1994 Swift Diamond Alouette 5 berth caravan. We’ve owned it since 2000 and it’s served us well. We are non-smokers. Currently it is in undercover storage in Brittany where we use it for 2 – 4 weeks every summer. There is no damp and although it is starting to show its age, everything works – plumbing, heating, water, fridge, shower, toilet, etc. There are fittings for both butane and propane, with a changeover valve. The battery is a five year old 110Ah and is handled by a CTEK charger/conditioner when not in the ‘van. Tyres are reasonably new – it only travels about 20 miles a year, from and to storage. Tyron bands are fitted. I have replaced the corrugated flexible waste pipes with smooth plastic. The roof lights in the living area have been replaced with mini Hekis. There is an AL-KO stabiliser and security tow hitch fitted – its friction plates were replaced a few years back. Most of the window stays have been replaced in the past few years. The Thetford cassette toilet works fine and its seal was replaced three or four years ago.There is a Purple Line Enduro 2 (manually engaged) caravan mover that was professionally fitted and probably hasn’t moved it more than 25 yards!The seat/bed cushions were replaced about ten years ago and the knee rolls were removed at the time to make…
