This is my beloved patchwork caravan ‘Harriet’ who I converted to a 5 berth to sleep our 3 children. We had some lovely family holidays and towed her all over the Lake District and Northumberland. However, our children are now teenagers, mostly adult sized, so obviously won’t fit in their bunks and sadly she has had some vandalism where she has been stored on our drive for the last few years so she needs a safe new home and some tlc. ‘Harriet’ has got a working tow-bar, plus fridge, cooker and sink and a place for a leisure battery, but we didn’t use the cooker or fridge, we only ever used a ‘hook-up’ cable with her, although I understand the previous owner used those. I just can’t vouch for whether those bits work or not. She does have a wood-burning stove which the previous owner installed and this does work – however, the chimney seems to be where damp gets into the caravan. We added a silicon sleeve around the stove-pipe which definitely helped, and it may just need more sealant. The saddest part about Harriet is that two of her windows have been broken and I have had to board them up. One is by the bunks so it doesn’t matter too much, but the back window has been repeatedly smashed where we store it on our drive and is now covered in sturdy board.
