Ace Jubilee Viceroy 2007 5 berth with Porch Awning
We’ve owned this caravan since June 2011 and have used it
for a number of holidays and short breaks over the years. Our children are
getting older and now the caravan isn’t getting much use.
The caravan is kept in storage for long
lengths of time, there was a leak through the rear window during 2017 which
resulted in some moisture getting into the rear. I’ve since applied silicon
sealant to the window hinge mounting, which appears to have stopped the leak,
but obviously some damage occurred. The plywood wall panel and the lining paper
show residual signs of damage local to where the leak occurred – it has
basically softened in this area, as can be seen in the photos.
We’ve used it as is for two years now and haven’t felt the
need to fix it – if you wanted to remedy it, I understand the lining paper
applied to the walls is still available. It would just require some effort and
time and a little bit of money to fix – there are Youtube videos explaining the
repair. The paper can be sourced for around £7/m and faced wall boards are £40
(2.4×1.2m) based on a quick search online.
We still use and enjoy the caravan. We went away in May in
it for a week to Devon and have just returned from a week in the Lake District
