1969 Sprite 400 Caravan H69 4075. This delightful little caravan is Sam Alper OBE’s (see Wikepedia) classic design. They are collector’s items (like Mk 1 VW Campers) both here (one recently included in collection at National Motor Museum at Beaulieu) and in California where they were made under licence for a while (see Google and Hagerty UK). This is a rare unspoiled example.She has been owned by us since 1990 and stored under cover on damp-proof dry concrete floor. The one-piece alloy roof has no damage or leaks.She is in original colours and has completely original interior apart from re-covered upholstery and carpet tiled floor, all restored a few years ago ready for a 6 week tour of Sweden where she was greatly appreciated for her accord with “lagom” (just sufficient) the cultural ideal there.Internally she has original cooker, sink, Whale pump all in full working order. Original sky light / roof vent. Opaque perspex replaced with translucent custom-made exact match fibreglass casting.The original 4th berth bunk (stored in backrest) undamaged and fully usable.Externally she has the original jockey wheel and screw jack, always removed and stored indoors. Spare wheel in underfloor cradle. 3 good tyres – plenty of tread – may exceed recommended age. Overrun brakes, reverse latch, and hand brake in full working order. Original 50mm hitch, heavy, cast, perfect. Corner steadies all original, fully working, kept well greased and fitted with captive plastic ground pads.There is a leisure battery (gel cell – needs replacing), hand-held solar panel…
