So the time has come to sell our beloved Matilda, a 1979’s spite musketeer…..I bought her after drunkenly overbidding on eBay and ventured from Northampton to ashford (thinking I was driving to Ashbourne!) without telling anyone who could deter me, to collect it, having never towed in my current car. We made it home obviously, and me and my children have loved her ever since. My husband does love her but he doesn’t admit it. Since we’ve had her we’ve laid a new floor, had the beds and table rebuilt by a carpenter, part of the roof rebuilt and re sealed. The seats all have covers and it’s had new wallpaper (Cath kidston) and painted.Matilda is not a caravan for everyone, I appreciate that, she is basic, but cosy! I would love to see her go to a family starting out. My 4 and 3 year old have loved their adventures and the only reason we are selling is because I want to be able to go away for longer (weeks) and would like more space. We have a small air porch awning that will come with her which has been a perfect fit and extends the space. Inside the caravan is 2 double beds, a wardrobe, 2 cupboards, a hob and oven (both working), a fridge (I’ve never used it but it does work off of the gas), a small sink. We have washed out the pipes for the sink and it does pump the water through but there is a small leak…
