Here is our 1961 Eriba Faun vintage classic caravan, which comes with a period awning. We have had this caravan for about 6 years. We owned a late 80’s Puck before but needed slightly more room inside and the option of a 3rd bed (or an additional bench seat when you don’t want to take the bed up) so we changed to this Faun when it came up for sale. You may be aware that these early Eriba’s are very light weight (cars of the era were not powerful enough to pull much else) so it’s great for towing behind a classic car, and very easy for a modern car to pull. They are also no wider than a modern car so towing on tight roads is very straight forward. This one was made in Germany before Eriba merged and moved to France. I particularly liked the short towing arm which means the Faun will go in a garage, and the distinctive styling with no window to the front.Inside this van has had a sympathetic restoration with timber panelling, but fortunately most of the cabinets and cupboards have been retained, including the overheads and the cooker/sink unit (which still has the German badge and original drawer key) on one side. On the other side, next to the door, a more modern style beer fridge has been fitted, but this only works under electric hook-up/plug-in. There was probably a tall wardrobe where the fridge is now, but…
