Elddis TYPHOON XL 4 BERTH CARAVAN/ Cheap Spares Or Repairs..When shopping for caravans this age you have to except they need or will need work..the difference is I’m honest and like to sleep well at night. Until the end of summer 2021 this was our family caravan but at the end of the season i noticed water ingress the bathroom in the offside corner. I should have dealt with it last year but I have been side tracked with a boat project. Last month I set about removing the wall. I cut out the bad wood and replaced with good wood. I put new foam insulation in and then covered in thin ply( all bonded together with glue as per manufacture) I must have lent on the aluminium skin because it’s bowed a little. If I had the time (and I don’t) i would make a brace to pull it back in (see picture around the toilet hatch) I repaired the floor at the front (very strong repair) as the landing leg bent under on a sloped pitch and cracked the floor…this repair will outlast the caravan and wasn’t caused by rot or damp. The caravan has a gas cooker (works brilliant) fridge ( works brilliant) it has a shower and hot water tanks (works great and I refurbished the water heater two years back) it has blown air central heating (never used this but i can tell you the thermostat is missing).
