After a couple of
Glastonbury Festivals and a few holidays, I’m selling Elvis the
Elddis, our pimped-up retro two-berth caravan.
It’s a 1992 ‘van so
it’s not perfect, but it’s still got a few years left in it, and
has been adapted so you can live ‘off grid’ on some of the more
wild campsites. For a start, it has solar recharging, with a 100W
panel on the roof, and all the interior lights are now LED. I’ve
fitted two USB charging sockets for your phones and tablets.
I’ve done a lot of
other work, too. It had two new tyres and new battery in 2015, has
had the rooflights replaced, the brakes serviced, it’s been rewired
and everything works, including the manual flush cassette loo and the
gas-powered hot water system. The fridge can run on gas, and it has a
gas space heater which is functional and safe, but could benefit from
a service.
It’s fitted with
smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. The kitchen has three burners
and a grill, and it will come to you with everything you need
to use straight away, including the water roller and waste tanks,
pipes and even a spare water pump. Happy to take the new owner
through the systems, though it’s not too difficult.
On the downside, its
bathroom cabinet plastics are damaged, though the shower tray is perfect.
Also it’s had a leak over the nearside front window, which has
damaged the woodwork inside the wall. I know where the leak is, and it’s a fairly easy fix….
