1979 SAFARI 15/4 CARAVANHere we have a pretty straightforward and undemanding classic caravan renovation project that will create a very worthwhile investment, and still be very useable in the modern age.I’m selling this on behalf of a friend, who bought it in its current condition a few years ago from someone else who had used it regularly and then started to renovate it, but was unable to finish the job. Likewise my friend also has never had the time despite best intentions, and so here it is for someone else to find the time to finish it. I’m quite familiar with this caravan and it’s parked very close to me so arranging viewing or answering any questions is no problem.Safari Caravans were founded in 1946 and continued until 1982. They were coachbuilt, selling for twice the price of an equivalent Bailey at the time, and are considered among the very best best caravans from their era. They were also the last manufacturer to use a railway-inspired ‘lantern roof’ in their designs, giving them a distinctive classic look.This model is 15 feet and has four berths, a double bed formed from the sofas and table (still present) at the front of the caravan, a single bed formed from the rear seating area, and a sturdy hammock with side pole supports (still present in good condition).I’m no caravan expert, but this particular one does seem to be well constructed compared to others…
