You are bidding for this much loved and admired Bailey Maru caravan which I believe to be a 1965 model from comparison with photos of other similar aged vans. She is up for sale due to splitting with my partner. Having bought this 7 years ago I stripped back all the paint and trims, fitted a sink/hob/grill unit and put the double mattress in to have the bed as a permanent feature, although this can be lifted to access the storage underneath. The old Whale water foot pump which had stopped working was replaced with a new one and new pipes, a new lifting hatch installed, fitted a 240v bulb to the old internal gas lamp, new external brake/indicator/running lights were fitted and away we went. In spite of it’s small size, it is surprisingly roomy and well laid out inside. It’s basic but everything works which makes it a joy to stay in. We always had plenty of people stopping to admire our caravan.There are a couple of gnarly bits – photos show some delamination of the plywood lining around two of the air vents which needs attention. Also the cupboard door on the sink/cooker unit needs to be adjusted to hang properly as it keeps popping open on it’s own. There’s a small aluminium drain tube missing from the outside of the big window near the bed which needs to be replaced to match the one on the other side.
