An absolutely ideal fixer-upper! A 1991 Avondale Sandmartin
XL 2 berth caravan (we’ve slept 3 very comfortably), been in storage outside
for three years. Amazingly it doesn’t have a musty smell and is dry internally.
It does show it’s age which is understandable for a 33 year old caravan! Generally it’s in good condition and would be a superb project for someone who’s handy to bring it back to it’s former glory.
The front section with the three windows will need replacing
or repairing, the wooden surround has succumbed to the elements but is sound
for towing. All other windows are sound and waterproof. Front gas compartment needs securing and isn’t water tight but does have built in drainage by design. The kitchen area needs
remedial work around the sink and cooker (see pics), the inner glazing over the
sink has cracked but is water tight.
It had two new tyres when bought in 2020, comes with
electric hook up cables, towing mirrors, jack for replacing a wheel, screw jack
for extending the supporting feet, wheel clamp, tow hitch lock, a Waste Hog and
Water Hog (both used only twice and very clean). You’ll need an adapter for the
electrics connector to your vehicle.
All systems untested; water pipes and electric all worked
perfectly the last time used (four years ago) it was re-plumbed just before we
bought it in 2020. Gas never tested or used. Replacement of gas lines
suggested.
